As Autism Hope for Families progresses, we want to continue helping families.  We are all aware the need for more awareness, services, support, and funding for families in Kansas, particularly families in underserved and rural communities.  We believe that an Autism Awareness license plate, for Kansas, would be one step toward building awareness and generating support for children and their families.  The revenue generated from these plates would help fund projects in different communities.  We  envision these projects as providing a range of opportunities for families and communities such as , grants to start Autism/Behavioral Centers, award communication devices to children and adults with ASD, educate people about autism and treatments, grant scholarships to individuals with ASD, provide  continuing education opportunities in such areas as first responders and family safety training, and to give families the opportunity to have a larger support system.  As a way to accomplish these goals, we have partnered with Linda Heitzman-Powell, Ph.D., BCBA-D of Integrated Behavioral Technologies, a non-profit providing state-wide autism treatment services, to ensure we are able to meet the needs of all Kansas families, schools and communities impacted by autism.
